  Dazzle the crowds with  your own incredible masterpiece. If you would like to make a Bridal Top hat or wide brim fedora that is covered in satin or simply a mother-of-the-bride pill box , this course will very interesting to you !!
You will use your own fabric to make an amazing Top hat and learn about the versatility of BUCKRAM.
This is the perfect course if you have always wanted to make your own couture hat that is perfectly covered top and bottom for that special occasion techniques of using fabric

During this three day workshop,
You will acquire the skills to block your own shape, using Buckram as your base material. Learn about handling before covering with a fabric of your choice .
Lina will demonstrate a variety of covering techniques (pleating, working with folds and weaving fabric)before you finish  and line it with a vintage style lining to a high level.

If you are interested in Millinery as a profession or simply want to completely immerse yourself in the world of hats, then this intense 3/5 Day Workshop is for you!
Your rollercoaster ride into the Millinery world will take off with making a Sinamay head piece or fascinator, then you get more technical and expand your knowledge by designing and making a straw hat that would be suitable for any fancy wedding or race meeting. The final piece of your course will be an elaborate ,fabric-covered cocktail hat.
Topics covered;
On day one under my expert guidance, you will learn how to;
-          recognize which style of hat would suit different people
-          design your own creation, and learn to shape and manipulate Sinamay  to achieve a beautiful headpiece that can be embellished with colourful feathers and beads.                                                
On day two you will, using a special milliner’s straw- Parisisal and Sinamay
-          design a basic shape of a hat
-          shape straw/sinamay by blocking over one of my many rare and amazing wooden blocks using traditional Millinery methods taught for generations.
-          Stiffen and wire the different parts of the hat
-         Create an extension to your brim using basket Weave Sinamay. Achieve a flawless finish
On day three
-          Your hat will come together and you will trim and finish it.
Day   Four and Five Cocktail Hats/Percher hats suitable for Weddings and Races
-          The next two days will be spent venturing through the various steps of designing and constructing a Cocktail hat using Buckram as the foundation material

+COUTURE Fabric covered Percher Hats and Silk French Flower Making
Ideal for those of you already skilled in making headpieces using Sinamay , this workshop will guide you through the process of blocking a simple yet very fashionable “ BUTTON HAT” or as I call them “ BI-BI’S” and covering it flawlessly with a fabric.
             Day 2 will be filled with the beauty of making your own Silk Flower using Lina’s traditional Flower making tools. You will learn about making a pattern for your flower, and will proceed to learn about stiffening and shaping your petals with the heated tools.
The flower and the hat will be brought together harmoniously!
You can then proceed to trim your little darling using your already present skills or let Lina show you a  few more tricks to add your basket of Millinery know-how.

+The ANIMATION of Crinoline - Wired Crinoline Brim and Guipure Lace
                Dive into 19th Century Millinery techniques and create a light and airy hat using Millinery Wire, Crinoline and Guipure laces.
                The hat can be of a vintage design or very modern. It can be large or small, exotic or classical
                Lina will guide you through the measurements, calculations and skills needed to complete a beautiful hat  trimmed with Guipure Lace complete with a vintage style  lining!
                 Your crinoline brim will no longer be dull, limp and old fashioned... it will be structured and supported by a wire-frame that Lina will help            you create.
               It will have the appearance of the night sky as you fly through it with the Guipure Lace floating elegantly and creating silhouettes. In     addition to being beautiful, your brim will also have an extra rigidity that            will make your work to follow much easier.

During this 2 day course we will go through the basics of couture millinery
We will discover the different techniques necessary for creating a hat, and you will have the opportunity to create a trimming suitable for the occasion.                                                                            
On day one you will work with Millinery Straws;
-Learn about the composition and variety of Straws,
-Design a basic shape of a hat taking in all your personal measurements and proceed t make your hat
On day two

There will be a minimum of two participants in each class advertised,
I am however available for special one-to-one master classes at a negotiated rate
The dates given in the program are flexible and can be changed with reasonable notice to course participants by Lina stein.
·All materials are supplied by Lina Stein other than a few essentials such as thimbles scissors, needles unless otherwise stated on the course outline.
·Depending on numbers, the workshops will be held in my studio (Rosmoney) or alternatively in another venue. 
·All courses include materials for one hat ,Should you want to make more than one piece ,materials are available for purchase from Lina
·Lunch and light refreshments will also be provided ,
·Courses run from 10am to 5 pm
·A 20 % deposit is required with bookings.
·Deposits are non-refundable but your booking can be transferred with 7 days notice.
· If you cancel the course without giving sufficient notice (7 days), the full cost of the course will still be payable and your place is non-transferable.
·            Should Accommodation be required, I can recommend you a selection of B&B’s and Hotels in the town
